Privacy Policy

Last updated 2 August 2026

Every Film Ever is a free, non-commercial archive of analog film stocks run by one person. This page explains exactly what gets stored, why, and how to get rid of it. No legal padding.

The short version: you can browse the entire archive without an account, and nothing personal is stored if you do. If you sign in, we keep your email, a Google account identifier, your chosen handle and the films you mark. You can delete all of it yourself at any time from your profile.

Browsing without an account

No account is needed to use any part of the archive. If you never sign in, no personal data about you is stored on the server.

If you sign in with Google

Signing in uses Google's standard sign-in. Google tells us three things, and we store them:

WhatWhy
A Google account identifierRecognises you as the same person next time, so your collection is still there
Your email addressIdentifies the account and lets us contact you about it if something breaks
Your profile picture URLShown on your own profile

We never see and never receive your Google password. We do not request access to your Gmail, Drive, contacts, calendar or anything else in your Google account.

What you create on the site

Public or private

Your profile is private by default. Nobody can see your collection unless you deliberately switch it to public in your profile. Even when public, only your handle, profile picture and film lists are visible. Your email address is never shown to anyone.

Counts shown on a film, such as how many people have shot it, are anonymous totals and cannot be traced back to individuals.

Cookies

One cookie, named efe_session, is set when you sign in. It keeps you signed in for 60 days and is cleared when you sign out. It cannot be read by JavaScript and is not used for tracking or advertising. There are no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies on this site.

Analytics

Visitor numbers are counted with GoatCounter, which is privacy-focused: it sets no cookies, does not track people across sites, and does not collect personal data. It records page views, rough country, and which site linked here.

Shopping links

Some film pages link to Amazon, eBay or B&H. These may be affiliate links, meaning a small commission may be earned if you buy something, at no extra cost to you. Following one takes you to that company's site, where their own privacy policy applies, not this one. These links never carry your name, email or any account information.

Images from other sites

Some packaging photographs are loaded directly from manufacturers, retailers and open archives, and are credited on the film's page. Loading an image means your browser contacts that site, and it may see your IP address in the normal course of serving the picture.

Who else gets your data

Nobody. Your data is never sold, rented, or shared with advertisers or data brokers. It is only handled by the services needed to run the site: Google for sign-in, and Hostinger, which hosts the server the data sits on.

How long it is kept

Your account and collection are kept until you delete them. Sign-in sessions expire automatically after 60 days. Delete your account and everything goes immediately and permanently, with no backup copy retained.

Deleting everything

Open your profile and choose Delete account. This erases your account, your collection and your sessions straight away and cannot be undone. If you would rather someone did it for you, or you want a copy of what is held about you, email the address below and it will be handled.

Your rights

If you are in the UK, EU or another region with data protection laws, you have the right to see the data held about you, to correct it, to have it deleted, and to receive a copy of it. Deletion is built into the site. For anything else, email and it will be dealt with promptly.

Children

This site is not aimed at children under 13, and accounts are not knowingly created for them. If you believe a child has created an account, email and it will be removed.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what is stored about you, the date at the top will be updated. Substantial changes will be noted on the site.
